About Engineer


Creativity is perhaps that attribute which, more than anything else, has brought humans from humble origins to the dizzy technological heights of today. The story of science and technology was written by those visionaries who dared to think differently, and allowed man to harness nature's awesome energies for his good. Today's engineers have the solemn burden of this inheritance placed on their shoulders – it is their turn to push back the frontiers of the possible. Engineers are required to constantly challenge conventions and innovate in a never-ending journey toward perfection. Engineer, NITK's Technical Symposium, is a celebration of this quest to enquire, create and innovate.

Since its inception in 2005, there has been no looking back for Engineer, with each new edition eliciting better participation and improving on the high standards set by its predecessors. Engineer is at once many things to many people, a place to showcase one's talents, a chance to experience first-hand, the joy of creating something, or simply a place to come to for inspiration. This year's edition promises to be the best yet, with competitions to spur on the inventor in you, workshops to bring you abreast with exciting areas of science and tete-a-tete with eminent personalities to provide you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come face to face with giants from various realms of technology.
